SOLVING COMMON PROBLEMS WITH YOUR MACHINE

A lawnmower, ride-on mower, brushcutter or chainsaw can run into common faults. Here's how to fix them quickly.

THE MACHINE WON'T START

	Check the power supply and the fuel.
	Clean or replace the spark plug.
	Check the air filter and the fuel lines.

LACK OF POWER

	Check the level and condition of the engine oil.
	Clean the air filter.
	Clean out the carburettor with a suitable cleaner.
	Sharpen or replace the blade.

EXCESSIVE VIBRATION

	Inspect the blade (impacts, warping, wear) and replace it if necessary.
	Check the fixings, the condition of the engine and the blade holder.

STREAKS OF GRASS

	Sharpen or replace the blade.
	Empty or adjust the grass collector (capacity / compatibility).

UNEVEN CUT

	Sharpen or replace the blade, cutting line or chain.
	Set the cutting height and move forward at a steady pace.
	On uneven ground, opt for larger wheels or adjust your pace.
